What is Custom Domain Set Up for Community?

A custom domain set up is a process through which you can create your own customized URL for your Salesforce org. Custom domain is also known as subdomain and my domain.

After registering a custom domain, there will be no need to remember the long and complex common Salesforce URL.

It is one of the best ways to highlight your brand and strengthen the security of your Salesforce org.

One important thing that you need to know is that this custom domain is reserved only for the people with Salesforce org. And once you finalize the sub domain, nobody will be able to take the same name. The sub domain will be your new and exclusive Salesforce URL that will be assigned to you.

Why Users Required Custom Domain or My Domain Set Up For Community?

Setting up subdomain is a perfect way to personalize your Salesforce org URL. It is a way to highlight your brand and protect it from unauthentic access.

By registering the sub domain, you can excellently manage your Salesforce org. You can always block those page requests that don’t have a new domain name. You can also define a custom login policy that will help you control the way users get authenticated and execute tasks simultaneously at the same time.

Another reason for the custom domain is that it will come in handy at the time of Single Sign-On (SSO) with different external identity providers.

Following are some more reasons to leverage the benefits of the custom domain set up –
